Cash-strapped Cycling Australia Receives Funding Lifeline

Cash-strapped Cycling Australia, the governing body of Aussie national cycling, has received a funding lifeline to keep alive Olympic program. The body has been offered A$2 million fund support.

According to sources, erstwhile ICC chief Malcolm Speed would be replacing outgoing chief Gerry Ryan & head a completely new board comprising of banks & business personnel as the cycling sport completes governance review & tries to gather more revenue for closing gaps on massive-spending cycling big shots as Britain.

Tiernan-Locke suspended & fired for doping

It’s a rough phase for Team Sky- after a disappointing attempt at Tour France, it is Tiernan-Locke’s doping suspension that has brought dark clouds in the Sky.
Sky chief Sir Brailsford has expressed deep disappointment over the doping incident and has expressed that he is feeling “let down” post investing resources ad time in Brit rider Jonathan Tiernan-Locke. Locke has received a 2-year suspension order & has also been fired from the team recently.

Royal Treatment In Yorkshire for Tour de France

The first stage of Tour de France began with the crowds lining up to Yorkshire to Harrogate. Chris Froome is being hailed as the favourite of winning the tournament.

The celebration comprised of ceremonial launch by Prince Harry and Duchess of Cambridge. Huge crowd thronged the roads. The first five days are very crucial as they are the most difficult. There also exists a stage of three climbs which are going to be tough. Brailsford the chief of Team Sky stated that there should not be any wastage of time.

Sir Bradley Wiggins undecided on Tour of Britain

A host of the biggest names in world cycling including British Olympic legend Sir Bradley Wiggins could be making their way to Gwent when stage three of the fabled Tour of Britain reaches Abergavenny in September this year.

The 33 year old Englishman, who won the Tour of Britain last time in 2013, has spoken of his desire to participate in the Vuelta a Espana this year as he prepares for the Road World Championships which is scheduled for September this year where the time trial is his prime target.
